QUIZ NIGHT
Heriot Watt and Edinburgh Universities Celtic Supporters Club (or CSC as Paul Reilly loves us being called) proudly presents, in association with brainsquizzes, our 1st Annual HWEUCSC Quiz Night
This night is a chance for all new students to come along and meet up with the current bunch of drunken eejits that are currently proud members of this fine club. So whether you are a seasoned campaigner of the club, or this is the first time you are experiencing one of our many legendary social events, then please come along, and show your support for the club and your friendly International Bar, for new members (and some current members) I have attached a wee map showing where the bar is
Start time – 7.30pm on the 27 September at the International Bar.

Each team must consist of no more than 5 people – so each team will have to move quickly if you want to sign up the quiz expertise of Gary Reilly…..
An for the winning team – a CASH prize (Bruce Forsythe wooow weeee) has been donated to the quiz from the club – to the tune of £200.00 – what a generous bunch we are.
So if you fancy boosting your drinking allowance by £200 just before pay day – or just getting £200 to go on top of your student loan, then come along and show your support for the club.

Final Tommy Burns Supper
Once again it is with great pleasure, yet a hint of sadness, that Heriot-Watt & Edinburgh Universities Celtic Supporters Club announces the details for our 23rd and Final Tommy Burns Supper – see poster attached.
You will know that, after Tommy's passing last year, we as a Club decided to have one Final Tommy Burns Supper. Accordingly, the Final Supper will be held a little later in the year than usual on Friday 30 October 2009 at 7.00pm in the Banqueting Hall, Teviot Row House Students Union, Edinburgh University. As always, we will have a night of haggis and neeps, whiskey and verse, and speech and song. Our Guest of Honour will be Rosemary Burns, plus our Honorary President Pat Nevin, as well as others who have worn the Hoops, written about the Hoops, sung about the Hoops, or perhaps just happen to like them with the rest of us. This year's event will be a particularly special one, commemorating Tommy and celebrating 23 years of our event.
The Tommy Burns Supper is the HWEUCSC's primary annual social evening, and has developed over the years into one of the best-known events on the Celtic social calendar. Like the far-inferior Rabbie Burns Supper, on which it is loosely based, it has acquired its own set of traditions, which are fiercely guarded by the club (well, bequeathed recklessly from year-to-year). The Tommy Burns Supper is a charitable event, normally solely for the HWEUCSC special cause Casa Alianza. However this year it has been decided that the proceeds from the night will be halved, with half being donated to Casa and the other half donated to a charity of GOH Rosemary Burns’ choice.
The full set of guests for this years Supper has yet to be announced but our dedicated organising committee have been working tirelessly behind the scenes, in collaboration with Celtic, to provide some pleasant surprises. The work that has been ongoing and our correspondence with Celtic is a major reason for the delay in the details of the Supper being finalised this year but we wanted to make sure that the Final Tommy Burns Supper is one for all to remember.
As this is the Final Tommy Burns Supper and we are making a real effort for our charities, tickets will be priced at £30.00 and can be booked by contacting myself. Tickets will be at a particular premium this year. Nevertheless, Club members are prioritised and will be guaranteed one ticket with extras allocated on a one per member basis until all are snapped up.
As soon as possible after 8th May, we will let you know how many tickets you have secured, and the payment deadline for Supper tickets will be 18th May 2009. Payment can be made by contacting me by any of the means detailed below, in cash, cheque, and by post or in person. Cheques can be made out to HWEUCSC and sent to the address below. Please get in touch with any alternative arrangements required.

As ever, we expect Club members to attend the evening in their hundreds and as per previous years we anticipate a hugely successful, enjoyable and perhaps poignant night!
