If you're a Celtic fan visiting Edinburgh, make the International Bar your first stop. This is where the HWEUCSC meet before and after games, hold committee meetings, have social events, watch live televised matches when they haven't got a ticket, and most importantly, drink lots.
The IB is a great pub for Celtic supporters to socialize in. The music is not too loud to impede conversation, there is a good range of beers available, and the regulars are friendly. While it is the spiritual home of the HWEUCSC, it is not a "Celtic Pub" as such. The regulars include a good mix of supporters of both Hearts, Hibs and even the occasional Hun, and we enjoy good relations with all of them, though I'm sure they all breathe a sigh of relief at 12.30pm on Saturdays when the bus leaves for the Celtic match.
On days when there is a Celtic match on Sky, the IB will be full to the brim with green-and-white bedecked fans, all staring intently at the big-screen in the corner. Celtic fans from all over Edinburgh always seem to make their way to Tollcross, and the atmosphere in the little pub is well worth experiencing.
The IB is situated in the Tollcross area of Edinburgh, on the corner of Brougham Street (which runs from Tollcross junction towards The Meadows) and Tarvit Street. The Numbers 18 and 24 buses go right past the door, and numbers 10,11,15,16,17,23,27, and 45 all go through Tollcross. You should find at least one or two of our members at the bar. Failing that, our club notice board which gives details of club events and bus times for matches. It is at the left-hand end of the bar.
